REFLECTIVE DEPTH

NEW IDEAS IN SPACE AND CABINETRY

Created to look beautifully bright and modern, Rosemount Kitchens constructed this kitchen to be a highly functional centrepiece of the home.

Cleverly designed by David Slade, the kitchen was designed to look far larger than the previous kitchen. Rosemount Kitchens accomplished this by removing the original built-in corner pantry to achieve better flow within the overall kitchen and dramatically increase floor space.

Slade replaced the existing dark timber with a lighter neutral colour palette. The white walls and a smokey-grey splashback create depth in the kitchen and make it seem larger. Mirrored elements were also added to the far back wall for the same illusion of depth.

Acting as an extension of the adjoining living area, the kitchen features internally lit clear-glass cabinets, which were skilfully installed above the stove to display decorative items. The living area and kitchen are separated by a large L-shaped island bench with a light-grey splashback on its front.

The pantry was transformed with a practical layout of open shelving at the top and drawers below the bench – all stored conveniently behind two bi-fold doors. A mirrored splashback was added inside the pantry for a more clutter- free appearance.

The kitchen features more drawers than cupboards to allow for ample storage space. Some were placed strategically under the island bench for added convenience. The majority of the drawers are large enough for easy storage of large items and crockery.

Established in 2010, Rosemount Kitchens was founded by a team of four who bring more than 60 years of combined experience within the kitchen industry. BEAUTY MEETS FUNCTION

A STRIKING FRENCH PROVINCIAL DESIGN

Mark Tonkin from Rosemount Kitchens designed this stunning French provincial kitchen as part of an extension. In the home’s new wing, Tonkin worked in collaboration with the clients to transform a blank canvas into the beautiful space pictured here.

The home has a range of storage options; a requirement stipulated by the clients. There’s a spacious butler’s pantry that houses an extra sink, bench space, and the fridge. The kitchen also has plenty of drawers and cupboards to maximise functionality.

Containing all the charm of the French countryside, the kitchen design remains simple and practical. Complete with modern appliances, an island bench and separate zones for cooking and preparation, this extension has it all.

The mantelpiece serves as the kitchen’s focal point and is situated above the oven, featuring decorative columns and cabinetry that runs down to the benchtop.

All of the cabinetry has colonial bar doors with glass shelves and is paired with stylish Castella handles. The Cavier Brick splashback from Southern Cross splashbacks is also a fashionable addition and creates a nice contrast with the light and dark colour scheme.

The careful design and construction of the kitchen has yielded excellent results and is a perfect example of the company’s quality craftsmanship and work ethic.

FUNCTIONAL BEAUTY

MODERN, HIGH-CLASS DINING

Designed by Reuben Hurst from Rosemount Kitchens, this kitchen has it all! From plenty of storage to modern appliances and quality finishes, Rosemount Kitchens has left no stone unturned.

The multi-level townhouse is only a street away from a selection of trendy cafes and top-rating restaurants, which makes regular eating out a strong temptation. The kitchen’s new state-of-the-art V-Zug appliances, however, make staying in more appealing.

The original kitchen was a builder’s standard kitchen that was installed when the home was built. The homeowners had wanted to update the space for some time, but struggled to find the right design to suit their lifestyle. When Hurst initially presented his galley-style kitchen to them, they were thrilled. The updated design targeted the kitchen’s problem areas by creating extra room for seating, blending the structural support beam in with the overall design, and increasing the kitchen’s overall storage capabilities.

Featuring sleek finishes and top-of-the-range materials, hardware and appliances, the finished space incorporates a modern, neutral colour scheme that won’t date, plus a sleek Caesarstone concrete benchtop, which perfectly complements the rest of the space’s finishes.

The kitchen’s design consists of mostly drawers with a pull-out spice rack in the top drawer to maximise the room’s storage potential. Bi-fold cupboards around the hotplate also ensure pots and pans can be stored in an easy-to-reach place that is out of the way.

The homeowners added their own personal touch with the tile splashback. They purchased the tiles themselves and laid them out on the floor in their desired pattern ready for the tilers to install.

DIVINE DESIGN

A SMART BLEND OF FUNCTION AND STYLE

This bright, modern kitchen showcases the second-storey apartment’s stunning beach views of Port Melbourne and seamlessly integrates into the open-plan design for everyday convenience.

The spacious design by Ray Micallef of Rosemount Kitchens incorporates multiple functional elements to make it perfect for food preparation and entertaining. The cooking zone’s cabinetry is strategically angled to provide a convenient working distance from the large island bench, and to allow multiple people to occupy the space comfortably at one time. Rosemount Kitchens moved the sink to the end of the bench, which allows the homeowners to easily view the open living area. The position of the sink also permits easy access to the oven by a second person.

Quantum Quartz’s ‘Venatino Statuario’ was selected for the beautiful benchtops and splashbacks, which are the kitchen’s focal points. Rosemount Kitchens installed subtle yet practical storage solutions that do not distract from the kitchen’s main features.

The cabinetry features a Polytec ULTRAGLAZE finish in ‘Pearl Metallic’ for a sleek aesthetic. The handle-less cabinetry doors are fitted with a TIP-ON mechanical opening system from Blum to eliminate the need for handles, which would interrupt the apartment’s streamlined aesthetic. The bin is fitted with Blum’s SERVO-DRIVE system, which means it can be easily accessed with a push of the knee when hands are full.

For convenience, LED strip lighting was installed beneath the overhead cabinetry, along with a door-activated pantry light.

A handy tambour door conceals small appliances when they’re not being used, while the Franke sink and tap, Panasonic microwave with stainless steel trim and Bosch appliances provide further functionality and visual appeal.
