Mint Kitchen Group Project 14

The owners of the featured property approached Mint Kitchen Group for a beautifully finished kitchen to form the heart of their 1950s weatherboard home, which features Tasmanian oak trims, ceiling roses and leadlight doors.

In response to the brief, Lindsay Williams from Mint Kitchen Group combined traditional and modern styling into one seamless and spacious design.

The new space incorporates highly functional features and flows through to the separate laundry and WC for everyday convenience. Inspired by modern European trends, the cabinetry features semi-gloss laminate in ‘Polar White’ and textured laminate in ‘Sublime Teak’. For a dynamic effect, dove-grey reconstituted quartz and complementary Tasmanian oak were selected for the benchtops.

Strip lighting was installed beneath the overhead cabinetry to highlight the pattern and texture of the splashback, which features geometric tiles that simultaneously reference the period styling of the home and foster a contemporary aesthetic.

The kitchen features innovative storage solutions such as a tall pantry with roll-out shelves, a LeMans corner unit from Häfele and a pull-out bottle unit in the cooking zone, as well as a small-appliance cabinet with bi-fold doors, which encourages a clutter-free appearance.

Mint Kitchen Group strives to capture the individual style of its clients in every project it undertakes, with a focus on functionality that will stand the test of time.
