Situated at the back of a 140-year-old brick terrace home, this stunning kitchen completed by the renowned Smith & Smith Kitchens was designed to illuminate and breathe life into the existing light-restricted room, while still retaining the regal
elegance of the historic home.

Using bespoke shaker-style cabinetry, the expert team from Smith & Smith Kitchens overcame the limitations of the room. A custom rangehood canopy and upper cabinets were designed to fit around an existing services bulkhead – creating the illusion of the wall cabinets rising to the ceiling, enhancing the sense of space, and achieving the homeowner’s vision of an open, airy aesthetic.

A soft grey-green colour was chosen for the cabinetry, fulfilling the homeowners desire to diverge from the trend of white joinery. A soft, subtle statement, this colour choice used in coordination with the shaker-profile doors ensures that the design blends into the home while retaining its fresh appeal.

The custom curved canopy serves as a luxurious feature within this kitchen, the delicate craftsmanship and flowing detail drawing the eye up to the traditional proud skirting that lines the upper cabinetry. These bespoke details not only add character to the room, but also highlight the height of the ceiling, enhancing the sense of space as per the homeowner’s brief.

Sleek black appliances are fitted beneath the impressive cabinetry feature, incorporating the modern luxuries to balance the old-world beauty that Smith & Smith Kitchens achieved within the room.

Gold hardware accents bring a special touch to the space. Double knobs on the drawers complement the shaker profile cabinetry, while the sleek gold tapware was the perfect choice to balance the generous farmhouse-style sink.
