Expressing a refined, contemporary aesthetic, this kitchen by Smith & Smith Kitchens is a striking example of how a practical, streamlined design can pave the way for a sleek, elegant style.

An impressive waterfall bench with adjoining seating area is a showstopping feature in this kitchen design, the beautiful white stone top flowing down three sides of the bench for a luxurious finish. A lowered dark seating bench wraps flawlessly into the island, an impressive feat completed by the expert team from Smith & Smith Kitchens that adds not only functionality but a fantastic exploration of dimension within the space.

Demonstrating the beauty and potential of laminates, the designers used a combination of products from Polytec’s LEGATO range, with cabinetry in ‘Crisp White’ and main counters and seating area offering a contrasting look in ‘Cinder Venette’. The soft, satin finish is a pleasure to the touch, and the durability of the product only makes it all the more appealing.

The black and white colour palette chosen for this kitchen imbibes a sense of drama and elegance that perfectly fulfils the homeowner’s desire for a kitchen that balances function and form. This is perfectly complemented by the light caramel-toned flooring that serves as the foundation for this stylish space, the timber bringing a warmth and texture that enhances the overall design.

Custom cabinetry was utilised to overcome the challenge of fitting all the basic amenities of the kitchen along one wall. With the large fridge and dishwasher integrated into the cabinetry, the streamlined, decluttered appearance requested by the homeowners was retained.

Continuing the play of light and dark, the contemporary rangehood was finished to match the dark counters and ducted through the wall to allow the top of the range to be up-lit. A splashback of softly textured white tiles serves as the final stylistic flair to cap off this sensational kitchen.
