Masterfully executed by The Design and Joinery Co team, this triumph of design space fluidity was conceived with the closeness of loved ones in mind, while attempting to push the boundaries of bold, entertaining features that will leave guests speechless. The company drew inspiration from mid-century design while being propelled by the desire for innovation and luxurious comfort.

With its award-winning Sorrento Guest House, The Design and Joinery Co received a brief detailing the need for overall functionality that prioritises the gathering of family. This was specified in the request for an extensive island bench that doubles as a dining space. The team exceeded expectations with this directive, creating a multifunctional heart for cooking, entertaining and designing out of a stylish pink Patagonia quartzite. This replicates the backsplash, which can be lit in multiple colours to create a gorgeous glow throughout the kitchen, offering a surprise feature and a unique dining experience.

Cohesion was a must of the project, with the warmth of Florentine walnut joinery seen throughout the house, enhanced by integrated LED lighting to illuminate the iconic natural stone.
