WHERE MEMORIES GATHER

Through a smooth and joyous collaboration, Zac Dunn Cabinetmaking has forged a kitchen of memory, warmth and timeless style. The client was clear with her vision – she desired a space that was streamlined, calming and highly functional, flowing seamlessly into the home’s open-plan dining room and sunken lounge. The kitchen needed to be spacious enough for family gatherings and big Sunday cook-ups without feeling cluttered, and she wanted the palette to reflect her travels through Cyprus, Greece and Italy.

One of the biggest considerations was storage space. The team worked together to create a custom-built sideboard and shelving system inspired by the homeowner’s aunty – resulting in one of her favourite features of the new space. Other clever touches include a bar with pocket doors, which can be opened when entertaining but hidden away when not in use, and a pantry extension with practical shelving and drawers. The main event – the island – hosts cosy breakfasts as the sun streams through the north-facing windows, creating moments that are nothing short of magical.
