Phoenix Cabinets is a kitchen design company that isn’t afraid to think outside the box – or the home for that matter. For this stunning alfresco area the homeowners wanted to create a fully-functional outdoor kitchen that allowed them to simultaneously prepare meals and entertain guests. Designed by Darren Puleio and Sam Bunting of Phoenix Cabinets this kitchen meets the clients’ requirements through innovative design and the clever selection of materials.

Rarely is an outdoor kitchen so well-equipped. Featuring all the appliances of an indoor kitchen as well as a barbecue, the thing that sets this versatile room apart from its counterparts is its location. The Ilve appliances, including rangehood, beefeater five-burner barbecue and the Eurotag dishwasher, fridges and oven, were fully integrated and
zoned to create a clean and easy-to-use working environment.

The real achievement was finding materials that would stand up to the wear-and-tear of the great outdoors, while remaining stylish. The combination of compact laminate, Polytech aluminium and frosted glass finishes on the cabinetry is ideal for this type of project because each is as durable as it is visually appealing. The ‘Bondi’ Caesarstone benchtop is also highly practical as the sheer size creates substantial space to prepare meals. Thanks to the addition of bar seating at the bench guests can sit and chat while meals are prepared.

The second project exemplifies the company’s eye for design. Featuring a black engineered stone benchtop, Phoenix Cabinets was able to create a striking contrasting colour scheme by using high-gloss vinyl-wrapped doors on the cabinetry and employing a black glass splashback. This bold motif is not only visually appealing but also creates a timeless aesthetic.
