Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors Project 7

This complete home renovation features impressive cabinetry, kitchen and bathroom design by the team at Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors. Completed as part of Channel Nine’s Love Shack programme with Deanne and Darren Jolly, the renovation completely transformed a run-down farmhouse into a contemporary, coastal oasis.

Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors’ impeccable attention to detail and expertise is on display throughout the home. Deanne and Darren’s brief was to create spaces that were functional, with plenty of storage and space for entertaining.  The dwelling features stylish cabinetry solutions in the bedrooms, bathrooms and living spaces, though the impressive kitchen is the heart of the home.

All cabinetry was designed by company founder Rex Hirst, who also suggested thoughtful alterations to the original floorplan to allow for greater functionality and flow. With the luxury of space at the team’s disposal, Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors was able to design a separate scullery, laundry and mudroom. The curved outer wall of the scullery increased mobility around the kitchen island, while the removal of the laundry door created space for a bench seat and generous storage in the mudroom.

The initial kitchen design was hindered when a window was installed incorrectly, meaning Rex and his team had to reconfigure the entire kitchen. Despite this hiccup, the team created a configuration that met the homeowner’s ideal layout. The space features eye-catching custom shaker style cabinets in Dulux ‘Deep Bottlebrush’ that are complemented by the subtle grey and green tones in the natural Pentelico marble benchtops and backsplash from CDK Stone. This colour scheme flows through to the laundry, scullery and mudroom to unify the spaces.

The expansive island bench features a built-in Fisher & Paykel cool drawer which is perfect for entertaining, while drawers were incorporated wherever possible to create easily accessible storage. The farmhouse-style sink includes bronze tapware to match the MadeMeasure leather pull handles on the cabinets. These warm accents mirror the exposed wooden beams and contrast the polished concrete floor.

The renovation accommodated thoughtful energy and water saving features such as rainwater tanks, solar panels, double glazed windows and quality insulation.

The powder room and ensuite include remarkable cantilevered vanities with built-in storage and vessel sinks, marble benchtops and bronze accents. Elegant mirrors and eye-catching pendant lights add further interest to these spaces.

Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors also built the entertainment unit in the living room, and the wardrobe and desk in the study with the same leather pull handles that feature in the kitchen. Details are mirrored throughout the renovation to introduce flow and create unity within the home.

Comprising a talented group of in-house interior designers, Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors can create beautiful kitchens and custom cabinetry solutions for any room in your home. Whether you are seeking ornate designs, a contemporary vibe or traditional layout, the team promises to provide clients with a bespoke space that suits their unique style. The company also completes a range of other projects, including alfresco dining areas, bathrooms, laundries, entertainment units, and walk-in-wardrobes.
