Edge Design + Renovations

When the owners of this unique waterfront property came to Edge Design & Renovations, they were looking for a company with the experience to construct a one-of-a-kind, Australian-made curved kitchen. It was also important that the kitchen reflected the owners’ personalities, as well as fulfilling specific functional requirements.

Mark Bloomer of Edge Design & Renovations has created this kitchen as an eye-catching centrepiece to the upstairs open-plan living area. The combination of a continuous 60mm Corian benchtop and servery with no handles gives the kitchen a smooth and seamless feel. The timber veneer feature generates timeless elegance.

The owners chose to use Gaggenau appliances, including a rangehood, a gas and ceramic induction cooktop, a 900mm oven, a steamer and a microwave. A Barazza curved sink and utensil system enhances the curved design and also provides functionality. The appliance cupboard features a Zip hot water system located above a ‘Pure White’ Caesarstone benchtop and concealed behind a contrasting gloss black aluminium roller door.

A massive 350kg GE dual-door refrigerator/freezer with water and ice-maker is cleverly recessed into the cabinetry. Two feature shelves are incorporated into the splashback, one of which has a pull-down television. Aluminium bottle racks and LED lighting are also integrated to create a ‘wow’ factor at night.

The kitchen includes a walk-in butler’s pantry that conceals all the storage needs, with ample soft-closing drawers and shelving. A second refrigerator and freezer have been installed in this area. All the colours, materials, and finishes used in the home were chosen by Mark in conjunction with the owners.

This sophisticated custom design, along with the matching cabinetry installed throughout the home by Edge Design & Renovations, has met the personal needs of the clients and has delivered a timeless yet stunning kitchen that will be enjoyed for years to come.
