Every once in a while you are presented with a room that takes your breath away. This sophisticated and luxurious kitchen, designed by Elyse Cabinets in conjunction with Lilley Building Group, is one of those rooms.

The clients wanted a space that was ideal for entertaining, that was also functional and had strong aesthetic appeal. Elyse Cabinets was able to achieve this by blending minimalist design conventions with daring textures and tones, such as the brilliant marble island benchtop, saltwood veneer cabinetry and black mirror splashback.

Not only is the island benchtop a stylish feature, it also includes base cabinets, transforming it into a spacious storage area. Keeping with the minimalistic style that runs throughout the design, the cupboard doors include a bevelled finger-pull at the top of the door – a sleek and simple alternative to handles. The base cabinet doors and the adjacent floor-to-ceiling pantry are finished in a Dulux ‘Whisper White’ two-pack gloss, creating further contrast between the colour and texture of the wood veneer cabinetry.

The design is made complete with flourishes of elegance. Three feature pendant lights are suspended above the island, providing light to the workspace and a striking talking point. The top-of-the-range appliances are all fullyintegrated, including the Miele oven, coffee machine and gas cooktop, as well as an Electrolux fridge.

There is no limit to the company’s talent which they extended throughout the home. A particular achievement is the stunning ensuite. Using a colour palette separate to the rest of the home’s décor, the black stone-look tiled feature wall and neutral brown floor tiles are opulence epitomised. Despite the dark colour scheme, the room feels light thanks to the generous marble vanity and wall-to-wall mirror – a triumph of design.
