Ital Ceramics
When April-Anne and William Bonar embarked on renovating their penthouse apartment, Ital Ceramics was their first choice. For April-Anne, knowing about Ital Ceramics’ designer John Ferola’s holistic approach to customer service meant there was never any other choice when selecting a team to assist in creating that ‘wow’ factor.
Working in unison with John, the Bonars endeavoured to design and create a unique look that would exceed all expectations. April-Anne approached John with a blank canvas and was looking at capturing a modern, understated, minimalistic look with a touch of opulence. With innovative, fresh, creative and unique ideas, John allowed April-Anne’s vision to become a reality.
April-Anne requested a unique touch to the design, and a mixture of Italian glass mosaics and Italian porcelain was used for the two bathrooms in response to this brief. For their ensuite, April-Anne and William opted for a look that whispered ‘tranquil ambience’. The chic linea mosaics create a Zen backdrop for the freestanding bath and open shower. In contrast, for the main bathroom, the use of glamorous bianco flora mosaics creates a look of sheer elegance – while also being practical.
With her dream kitchen in mind, John helped April-Anne source the amazing Quartzite slabs that were used for the island benches and were created to be the focal point and feature of the kitchen and surrounding living area.
The splashback, although subtle, features a metallic shimmer that adds depth and dimension; complementing the Quartzite beautifully and adding another interesting element to the design.
John took on the project while April-Anne was living abroad. He organised and oversaw some of the tradesman and took care of the all-important finishing touches, keeping his client informed of progress with photos and constant updates. When April-Anne returned, the project was completed and all design briefs had been met and fulfilled.
