Described by the client as “stunning”, this kitchen features clean, crisp flowing lines, a stainless steel benchtop with slab ends and a practical integrated sink. Designed by the homeowner Tufan Chakir, an architect and urban planner from Poligot, the dynamic kitchen concept was brought to life by JPH Joinery.
A key part of the brief was to ensure the kitchen was well-balanced, functional, uncluttered and minimalist. An unusual but effective touch has been added to the space with the ‘floating’ appearance of the bench and the cabinetry.
This look has been enhanced by mirror laminate on the polished concrete flooring. To achieve the various elements requested by the client, JPH Joinery ensured the layout of the cabinetry was well thought-out and that equal drawer splits were incorporated. Square-edge white gloss doors and Blum Tandembox drawers were installed, and the back wall is framed with two tall pantries. With more than 30 drawers, including a sink drawer, 14 inner drawers in the pantries, shallow cabinets at the back of the island bar and large overhead cabinets above the rangehood, the space is highly practical and boasts exceptional storage.
The kitchen also has an integrated fridge and freezer, a double-door appliance cabinet with pocket doors and exceptional energy-saving features, including large double-glazed windows, expanding foam insulation, slab heating, a Zip Hydroboil unit and an induction cooktop.
JPH Joinery managed to accommodate the client’s request for straight lines and balanced design with the need to ensure the space is a practical one. The homeowner says the kitchen is a great place to work in, is spacious and has plentiful storage which helps keep it free of clutter.
The kitchen is fitted out with Polytec Manchester ultra-white gloss vinyl-wrap doors and panels, handle-free drawers, a 20mm stainless steel benchtop, a black glass splashback and polished concrete flooring for a sharp modern look.
