Love Shack

May 5, 2020 | Kitchen and Bathroom News

A visit to Let’s Talk Kitchens’ beautiful showroom in leafy Canterbury proves that for whatever renovation you are contemplating, Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors is a must visit. All staff at the large design studio in Melbourne are passionate and qualified designers, eager to help you create your forever home. With nine kitchen displays, five bathroom and vanity displays and two laundries and alfresco areas, this is a visit that will inspire.

In early 2019, Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors were invited to take part in a segment for Love Shack, filmed and broadcast for the Nine Network. The company collaborated with Dea and Darren Jolley from The Block, who purchased a small beach shack in Fingal on the Mornington Peninsula to transform into a large, contemporary family home. Director Rex Hirst was tasked with designing all the cabinetry components and working spaces of the home such as the kitchen, scullery, laundry, mudroom, bathrooms, wardrobes and entertainment units.

Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors facilitated the construction and installation of the cabinetry and saw the project through to completion. Dea, with her honed eye for style and colour, collaborated with Rex, with his fine-tuned spatial skills – to create a stunning and functional home. Rex was well-known on the show for butting heads with architect Sam Haberle of S. Group – the brains behind the architectural design of the large renovation project. At the project’s completion, Rex and Sam developed a great rapport and an admiration of one another’s particular expertise in their respective fields of interior design and architecture.

Rex and Sam have since gone on to collaborate on a four-part web video series which explores design and the architect’s perspective versus the interior designer’s. Let’s Talk Kitchens & Interiors are proud of the finished Love Shack project and its contribution to what is a brilliant example of a contemporary, coastal home.
