Melbourne Contemporary Kitchens

This contemporary kitchen, designed by Rachel Freeman from Melbourne Contemporary Kitchens, features an array of exciting design elements and modern materials that combine to create stunning architectural appeal.

The first jaw-dropping feature that’s guaranteed to make you swoon is the cleverly designed porthole, which provides an underwater view of the pool.

The cabinetry features a complementary combination of white two-pack satin paint and black super-opaque FENIX NTM (nanotech material). This innovative material exudes elegance and boasts state-of-the-art technological performance. Featuring low light-reflectivity, its surface is extremely opaque, fingerprint-resistant and soft to the touch. Further, any superficial micro-scratches can be thermally healed.

The island bench features a gorgeous 80mm Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo benchtop and a blackbutt servery, while the rear bench features a sleek 12mm Dekton material, which is scratch-resistant and able to withstand high temperatures without burning or cracking.

For enhanced functionality and a luxurious appearance, the design includes high-performance NEFF appliances, a tuck-away appliance cabinet, a concealed laundry shoot, a One2Five pull-out bin from Häfele, smooth-action Blum AVENTOS lift-up doors and a smokey-grey mirrored splashback, as well as a custom-made, self-watering copper vertical garden, which adds a wonderfully fresh final touch.

Melbourne Contemporary Kitchens was established in 2008 by Stuart Dougall and Cade Bryant. The company specialises in high-end architectural and residential projects, and builds approximately 50 kitchens annually throughout Melbourne.

With a commitment to cutting-edge design, Melbourne Contemporary Kitchens uses the best materials possible, while working within the stipulated budget. The company can design, construct and install indoor and outdoor kitchens, laundries, entertainment units, wet bars, vanities, bedroom units, study areas and any style of built-in cabinetry.

In recognition of its commitment to quality and exceptional service, Melbourne Contemporary Kitchens also won Australian Cabinet Maker of the Year, Best Bathroom and Best Built-in Furniture at the 2016 Cabinet Makers & Designers Association (CMDA) Awards.
