A truly collaborative project, this renovation was a culmination of the client’s needs and desired aesthetic executed perfectly by H Plus H Projects, Kate and Andrew Rowe from K+ARchitects, and Josh Coles of Built In Melbourne. With the showstopping kitchen at the heart of the renovation, this home also boasts a beautiful bathroom transformation.

When reinventing the structure of this home to accommodate the new kitchen, H Plus H Projects and its collaborators ensured that ample light filled the space. By introducing a large skylight over the kitchen and adding a window splashback, the space is vastly improved as a light-filled open-plan kitchen.

Storage was another major priority for the homeowners, who wanted their Victorian home to maintain its elegant, timeless charm but with elevated functionality. This was achieved by partially removing a wall, integrating the fridge, and making more overheard storage. A new length of cabinetry was also added across the east wall, with generous storage including drawers in the kickers.

By utilising space from the adjacent study, H Plus H Projects was able to incorporate a hidden walk-in-pantry into the kitchen. Tucked away behind sleek, sliding doors, the pantry is a natural continuation of the joinery in both aesthetics and practicality
– boasting the same Quantum Quartz Naturale Concrete benchtops and two-pack joinery.

Much like the rest of the renovation, the bathroom pays homage to the home’s Victorian heritage. Incorporating a neutral colour palette, it maintains a link to the modern renovation whilst also referencing to the traditional with the patterned floor tiles, beautiful old bathtub and freestanding American Oak vanity.
