VICTORIAN CHARM, MODERN LINES: THE PERFECT BLEND OF THE AGES

Many projects claim to mix old and new, but this project by Mr Cabinets actually commits to it. Called ‘Henry House’ this home build has a Victorian-era character but is seamlessly reinterpreted with contemporary forms and finishes. Rather than clashing the two styles together, this project uses clean lines, natural materials and restrained detailing to unify the whole build.

With a design brief aimed at maintaining Victorian charm but creating a contemporary living situation, Mr Cabinets made the deliberate decision not to compete with the Victorian era joinery, but rather to create an intentional contrast, allowing both styles to exist intentionally and effortlessly together.

Utilizing Polytec Natural Oak Ravine Doors, Caesastone benchtops and Blum Hardware, this project has a clean-lined approach with storage elegantly integrated into the walls and structure. Floor-to-ceiling cabinets built into the space give a cohesive, clean finish, while raked ceilings and open plan layouts increase the daylight penetration into the space.
