This contemporary kitchen showcases a modish use of varying colours and textures. Designed by Laly Renahan for Smith & Smith Kitchens, this V-groove kitchen is both trendy and elegant.

The newly built property overlooks a vast and hilly landscape, dotted by eucalypts and kangaroos. The brief called for a natural look, with a mix of materials, colours and textures. The chief priority was to create a functional space for a growing family in a style that would not date. An abounding sense of curiosity lingers as you enter the space, with a striking, dark grey V-groove island bench that immediately draws the eye.

The kitchen is a moody balance of light and dark shades, and smooth and textured surfaces. The space is also bathed in natural light, establishing a feeling of tranquillity the moment you walk through the door.

White, V-groove two-pack doors complement the overhead laminate timber-effect cabinetry. Such complementary materials are used intentionally throughout the space for stunning visual harmony. The Caesarstone rugged concrete splashback and island benchtop add an industrial-inspired, robust element to the design that contrasts beautifully against the warmer, laminate timber fixtures. Boasting durability and longevity, the island benchtop is tailor-made for a family that loves to cook and entertain.

Although it has a smaller blueprint, the kitchen includes ample storage options and products that are easily cleaned and maintained. Blum Antaro soft-close hinges and drawers highlight the design’s modern feel, and the kitchen’s simple, minimalistic shapes form a linear, streamlined interior that results in a beautiful, architectural layout.

The kitchen is equipped with the latest modern appliances for efficient living. With a Bosch oven, cooktop, and dishwasher, an Omega rangehood and a Fisher & Paykel fridge, this kitchen has everything a family could need. These myriad features culminate in a flawless design that delivers a pared-back look without any unnecessary detail, perfectly curated by the team at Smith & Smith Kitchens.
