Smith & Smith Kitchens’ glamorous retelling of this older kitchen presents an effortless down-to-earth Hamptons-inspired design with a dash of modern elegance.

The removal of an angled entry into the butler’s pantry was the turning point in redesigning this kitchen’s layout. The clever, streamlined access to the hidden pantry created a theatrical backdrop to the beautiful Hamptons-style stove. This elegant design was topped off with dramatic double-height overhead cabinetry; the profile matching the shaker-style that was used throughout the kitchen to create the iconic Hamptons aesthetic.

Within the butler’s pantry, an innovative placement of cabinetry maximised storage and created an ergonomic design that overcame the challenge of the restricted space. Housing the fridge, dishwasher and appliances, this hidden gem allows the homeowners to keep their kitchen clutter-free.

Modern glamour was weaved into the design through the incorporation of slim brass handles, tapware and complementary pendant lights with brass-toned interior for a sophisticated pop of colour.

A generous central island counter aids in creating functional movement throughout the room. With the surrounding cabinetry painted in Dulux ‘Natural White’, the island counter provides a tantalising contrast with its darker colour choice, ‘Metalise’. Not standing alone in this statement, this moodier colour palette was carried into the butler’s pantry for a high-end elegance.

Reconstituted stone with a marble appearance was used for the countertops throughout the kitchen and butler’s pantry.
