With a polytec ‘Natural Oak’ ravine finish, the surfaces contrast stunningly with the cabinetry. Smith & Smith Kitchens’ client needed a large kitchen that is suitable for both family living and hosting entertainment. As deep lovers of cooking, they also needed a space that was functional to foster their passion. For this reason, optimising the space and storage was an absolute priority.

Although there was adequate room to build a butler’s pantry, the client chose to keep everything within the main kitchen area for the communal aspect of cooking, but also to keep everything within easy access. The spectacularly large island allows multiple people to work within the kitchen at the same time without fighting for space and allows guests or children to be seated at the island.

The cooking area and the wet areas have been distinctly divided to allow excellent access and movement between zones, ensuring that more than one person can be working harmoniously in the space at a time.

A kitchen that is easily maintained is essential for a busy family who love to cook. Smith & Smith Kitchens set out to achieve this with a delightful combination of handles and electronic opening doors. The servo drive cabinets and bin allow for light touch for ease of use, while also significantly reducing fingerprinting and enable easy cleaning of the brilliant black cabinets.

To keep the kitchen looking tidy while remaining functional, bi-fold doors were installed on the pantry so that the mess within can be hidden. The inclusion of two fridges ensures that everything has a place and therefore enhances organisation and reduces clutter.
