Created to look beautifully bright and modern, Rosemount Kitchens constructed this kitchen to be a highly functional centrepiece of the home. Cleverly designed by David Slade, the kitchen was designed to look far larger than the previous kitchen. Rosemount Kitchens accomplished this by removing the original built-in corner pantry to achieve better flow within the overall kitchen and dramatically increase floor space.

Slade replaced the existing dark timber with a lighter neutral colour palette. The white walls and a smokey-grey splashback create depth in the kitchen and make it seem larger. Mirrored elements were also added to the far back wall for the same illusion of depth.

Acting as an extension of the adjoining living area, the kitchen features internally lit clear-glass cabinets, which were skilfully installed above the stove to display decorative items. The living area and kitchen are separated by a large L-shaped island bench with a light-grey splashback on its front.

The pantry was transformed with a practical layout of open shelving at the top and drawers below the bench – all stored conveniently behind two bi-fold doors. A mirrored splashback was added inside the pantry for a more clutterfree appearance.

The kitchen features more drawers than cupboards to allow for ample storage space. Some were placed strategically under the island bench for added convenience. The majority of the drawers are large enough for easy storage of large items and crockery.
