This contemporary kitchen has the clean lines, functionality and ‘room to move’ that the client requested, and is an aesthetic addition to the home. With access to a barbecue area from the servery window, distinct work areas that fit with the working triangle design that is imperative to practical kitchens, easy to clean surfaces and family-friendly hard wearing finishes; this kitchen has been built to last.

The kitchen was designed by the owners in conjunction with Jason Webb, the principal of SMJ Cabinets. A qualified cabinet maker with more than 20 years experience in the industry, Jason runs SMJ Cabinets with the help of a specialised team of highly skilled tradesmen. With production and estimating manager Chris Partington – who has more than 30 years of industry experience in a variety of roles – also part of the team, SMJ Cabinets works hard to ensure clients’ time, budget and quality goals are achieved.

The second kitchen featured here also illustrates the high level of attention to detail that can be found in SMJ Cabinets’ projects. With a completely different aesthetic to the first kitchen, this project exemplifies traditional style. Despite the federation-look of the kitchen, it has been fitted with modern materials to ensure ease of use and longevity.

SMJ Cabinets’ client sought a kitchen with old-world charm, which has been achieved with the style of the glass overhead doors, the capping moulds and the selection of finishes. Jason Webb designed the kitchen and selected brown granite for the benchtop, Albedor Antique White for doors, Grecian fluted antique brass handles and antique kickboards for an authentic look.
