TIMELESS TRANSFORMATION

This latest project from Better Bathrooms & Kitchens effortlessly commands attention with its showstopping blend of old-world charm and bold design moves. The client approached the team with a simple yet ambitious brief. She envisioned her spare room converted into a showstopping bathroom of timeless, elegant drama – a space that feels like an experience, rather than just a utility. To meet this, the team leaned into the scale and grace of the existing architecture, using the generous ceiling height and natural light to its advantage.

The original window floods the room with natural light and frames a serene view, instantly becoming the soul of the space. The placement of the bath beneath the window anchors the space with a focal point that immediately delivers on drama. The vanity, sourced from a marketplace in Bali, was carefully converted from a vintage hallway console, allowing character, colour and sustainability to enter the space. Every decision, from the tapware to the lighting, was made with the intention of delivering theatre without compromising on functionality.

Sustainability was also an integral part of the process. The mirror, sourced from thrifting, maintains the nostalgic elegance of the space. Tapware was selected with water efficiency and longevity in mind, minimising the environmental footprint without sacrificing style.

This project is a masterclass in spatial generosity. From the open layout to the positioning of key features, every element has been considered to enhance flow, function and atmosphere. The room doesn’t just accommodate luxury – it amplifies it. With design choices by Hitika Gupta and the managing talents of Garrett Hebden and Carolyn Moule, the project didn’t just make the most of the space – it made it unforgettable.
