Better Bathrooms & Kitchens Project 9
A testament to Better Bathrooms & Kitchens’ innate understanding of design principles, this bathroom is an exceptional utilisation of the home’s smaller floor plan. With modern fixtures, a double shower and free-standing bath, Better Bathrooms & Kitchens still managed to effectively combine the best elements of modern living without the space seeming cramped.
Sleek, linear tiles line the walls from floor to ceiling, transforming the space into a wet room – the division marked by two shower screens that embrace each showerhead situated on opposite sides of the wall.
Standing behind the double shower lies the free-standing bath that spans the width of the room, allowing for ample time to relax and wash away the day’s rigours. Light floods into the room through the large window above the bath, keeping the space bright and inviting.
Light and green tiles enhance the bright aesthetic and act as a welcome – but not jarring – contrast to the white shutters that adorn the window. Adding visual depth, the flooring features intricately patterned tiles that have pops of colour – adding a welcome warmth to the room. On the opposite end of the colour wheel, its warm terracotta notes complement the green feature wall tiles, simultaneously harmonising the space and adding interest.
Complementing the earthy hues, warm copper fixtures have been utilised throughout the bathroom from the shower drain to the taps and shower heads. These fittings have been utilised throughout both the ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ areas of the bathroom for continuity, tying the whole space together.
A match made in heaven, wooden cabinetry perfectly complements these copper fittings – elevating the space by incorporating elements from nature to bring the outdoors in and add contrasting texture.
The toilet and vanity occupy the space next to one shower head while the opposite side houses a towel rail, making efficient use of the space. Better Bathrooms & Kitchens has carefully renovated the space; and the the shower screens have been cleverly utilised as a barrier that signals the beginning and end of the ‘wet’ and ‘dry’ areas – compartmentalising and organising the space.
