MTR Designer Cabinet Project 2

The clean lines and smooth, sleek look of this kitchen make it an entertainer’s dream. The architecturally designed kitchen was built by Michael Mezzatesta from MTR Designer Cabinets.

The brief provided to MTR Designer Cabinets by the clients was for a kitchen that could cater for family fun, be perfect for entertaining guests, and that had wonderful aesthetic appeal. Another priority was functionality, to ensure the kitchen could be effortlessly used for any of these purposes.

As well as looking good, the kitchen’s design ensures food preparation and serving is made simple. All appliances have been placed within easy reach of the workstation, while drawers and overhead cabinets are spacious to allow plenty of items to be easily stored, leaving the vast bench space clutter-free. It also makes light work of cleaning the kitchen.

The slick glossy look of the doors and panels was achieved with two-pack polyurethane, the colour of which was selected to match Dulux ‘Clayton’ paint. Finger-pull handles with shadow lines were installed, and a sandy coloured Glasskote splashback was incorporated, providing a contrasting yet complementary addition to the room’s colour palette.

Dark-stained solid American Oak was used for the flooring, and a taupe-coloured 20mm reconstituted stone benchtop from Stone Italiana was used. The kitchen is fitted out with appliances by Miele.

Michael Mezzatesta and Tony Rachiele started MTR Designer Cabinets in 2000. After 11 years in business, MTR Designer Cabinets has established itself as a company that provides excellent craftsmanship and reliable service. Building budget to high-end kitchens in any style, traditional through to modern, MTR Designer Cabinets is a great choice to complete your home project.

The business works throughout Melbourne and the outer suburbs, and constructs between 70 and 100 kitchens each year.
