Perini Kitchens & Bathrooms Project 1
Designers John Perini and Carmel Killingbeck from Perini specialise in luxury, fully project-managed bathroom renovations, and the featured combined bathroom/laundry is an example of their excellent work.
The clients wanted a large, open space, with an emphasis on quality lighting. Perini’s clients wanted to have the bathroom and laundry separated and the laundry hidden when in use. John Perini, who designed this room, used large white gloss doors to fulfil this part of the brief.
To create the functional and spacious bathroom and laundry, Perini removed a dividing wall and installed large mirrors, rectified white gloss tiles, and a freestanding bath and open shower. A water saving showerhead and dual flush toilet were also incorporated into the design.
The bright and contemporary room features custom-made Perini cabinets; tiles, and Italian tubular wall lights, and is painted in Dulux vivid white gloss. The mirrored walls bring in abundant natural light, helping to open up the room and make it appear light and spacious.
Perini services the inner Melbourne area and builds about 25 bathrooms each year. The business also designs and builds kitchens and works on small interior jobs.
The Perini business was formed in 1975, and with John Perini – a Registered Building Practitioner – at the helm, has established itself as a reputable and accomplished renovations and construction company.
Also designed by John Perini, the featured kitchen was created for clients who sought an uplifting, contemporary kitchen that would combine all their appliances effortlessly, and above all be convenient to use.
They were keen to have a space in which they could interact with guests but also needed it to be highly functional. The spacious alpine white quantum quartz island bench helps achieve both of these requests. John Perini also ensured there was distance between the usable bench and the island bench.
There was limited room to work with, as the kitchen is located between two walls that cannot be moved, but Perini was mindful of this, and even incorporated pull-out pantries to help create an illusion of space.
The kitchen also has plenty of storage and great task lighting. Other features of the kitchen include Blum aluminium-framed frosted glass overhead cupboard doors, the frosted glass splashback, and brushed aluminium laminate kickboards. Dulux vivid white paint was used throughout on the door and panels, and self-closing Blum drawers were also installed.
Perini combined a number of different materials to create the kitchen, which worked well to create the desired effect and functions the clients wanted.
The colours, textures, and styles John Perini used in the kitchen all complement the existing polished timber floorboards in the kitchen.
