SCLK Project 2
SCLK worked in close collaboration with Rebecca Jansma from Space, Grace & Style to achieve the client’s vision of a spectacular family kitchen, delivering a space that’s simple yet stylish and fits perfectly within the surrounding home.
The hand-painted, wire-brushed oak doors in the classic slim-line shaker-style bring a warmth to this kitchen, which is given an industrial edge by the black steel rangehood, bench frame and matching tapware. These features are a real highlight, complementing the black-framed windows and outside pergola, thereby seamlessly linking the two designs. The homeowners, along with guests, can move between the indoor and outdoor spaces as if it were one cohesive unit, enjoying the fabulous kitchen as well as the pool and custom-made barbecue unit.
From the window splashback to the black-and-white colour scheme, the kitchen’s design is grounded in a contemporary style, however through the shaker-style cabinetry and reeded glass doors, there are ample hints of a traditional aesthetic to reflect the front of the house. Integrating the dishwasher was a clever choice to prevent disrupting the shaker-style look.
SCLK opted for a galley layout, allowing the team to introduce flat-panel drawer fronts with industrial handles from Lo & Co Interiors, which provide aesthetic appeal. These drawers are fully accessible with no dead corners, creating a highly functional and ergonomic space, further enhanced by the built-in steel table extension, where residents and guests can sit either side and enjoy the views.
