Simply Bathroom Solutions Project 1

Designed by Liz Staynor of Simply Bathroom Solutions, this L-shaped bathroom maximises space and functionality while showcasing bespoke finishes. The project features a large shower recess with niche storage, a freestanding egg-shaped bath with a freestanding spout, a custom-designed solid American oak vanity unit, and a wall-mounted toilet pan with a concealed cistern. The clients wanted the bathroom to be open, modern and something they had not seen before. Most importantly, they wanted a bathroom that their daughter would love. Working closely with the designer, they were able to bring their unique, innovative vision to life.

Neutral-toned porcelain tiles and matte-black fixtures give the bathroom a contemporary finish, while the graffiti wall tiles add a distinctive touch. The frameless glass showerscreen maintains the openness of the space. In a display of innovation, Simply Bathroom Solutions changed the size and shape of the sky light to welcome ample natural light during the day, despite there being no windows.

To meet the clients’ desire for a spa-like environment, the company installed multi-switch mood lighting and vanity niche lighting in a warm white to soften the room, as well as hanging a feature pendant light in the corner near the bath. Underfloor heating and heated towel bars for warm, dry towels all year round add to the luxury of the bathroom. The design maximises storage with a floating all-drawer vanity and mirrored cabinetry rebated into the wall, while the wall niches keep products off the floor and vanity, making it easy to keep the room looking neat and tidy.

Structurally, the original floor was not level, nor was the room well plumbed. Simply Bathroom Solutions’ expert team repaired the floor, relocated the plumbing, removed the large spa bath and redesigned the shower recess. By transforming the layout, the company was able to dramatically increase the functionality of the space without compromising on the luxury features the client desired.
